I want to live in Austin, TX. I have friends that just moved there, and every good indie band either goes there every year for Austin City Limits or was started there (Explosions in the Sky).
I know they are gaining popularity now, but if you haven't heard of them: check out the Silversun Pickups.
They have a sound that reminds me of a mix of Smashing Pumpkins and Placebo. Their Pumpkins-eque fuzz boxes and androgynous lead singer remind me of some of the early 90s alternative stuff. For a while I really thought the singer was female, but it turns out he's just gay :-D ( i think )
None the less- here is Lazy Eye by the Silversun Pickups-- which is the single I guess. Also, check out Rusted Wheel (and the rest of Carnavas):

The Silversun Pickups are a great band. I first heard them a couple of years ago. If you haven't already, you should check out Starsailor. The song "In The Crossfire" from their album "On The Outside" is fantastic, as is the rest of the disc.
