Beautiful

As a random thought today- I wonder what are the major things that affect how we perceive attractiveness. I think its probably safe to say that each of us has similar, but distinctly different tastes in what we consider physically attractive. I'm only talking about physical attractiveness--not anything else. I prefer blonds to brunettes, and there are certain facial features, and other things that I find really hot that plenty of others would disagree on. So I wonder why that is? Why is it that we could probably grab a handful of people and each would disagree slightly on what are the hottest qualities of people. I guess this sounds shallow-- but I find it interesting. Is it just different things that happened when we were growing up-- certain physical features of friends? idealized perceptions of ourselves, etc?



I'm sure- like everything- its a mix of genetic predisposition + environmental conditioning. One day Ill have to find some psychologists and sociologists to shed some light on this for me. I'd love to see some studies on things like this. I remember in sociology class reading a few studies on homosexuality that were really interesting. In another life, I would've loved to be a psychologist- but not clinical, probably researcher/professor.

School starts back next week and I am taking Neural Networks and Natural Language Processing...which will both be challenging. They are both Artificial Intelligence classes. However, on the positive side, when I'm through with them- I am pretty sure that I will have all of the necessary knowledge to create robots smart enough to kill all humans :-)
