Redecorating my abode

I've said it before but my only real gay trait is decorating. I'm not necessarily good at it, but I do think its kind of fabulous taking a space that is boring and plain and making it look and feel awesome. Yes yes- its all a bit vein, but I do a lot to entertain myself normally.

I have painted the walls this toupe-y gray color. I have repainted the ceiling, and the trim (because I suck at painting...so unless it was all going to be gray- I had to repaint this!). I have new furniture-- distinguished, but modern. Now I just need to clean the carpets (should replace probably), buy a new 42" lcd tv, a new computer desk, drapes, sheets, art, and any other decorative pieces to pull the room together. I'm about to do the carpets now so they can dry overnight. Tomorrow I have to buy the TV, computer desk, and drapes. Then once the furniture is in the room, I can see what other pieces and art I will need. I've already decided on one big painting on one wall. I really like abstract stuff. I have this awesome, violent, stunning piece in my living room... but I would like something more calm. Im thinking an abstract version of an early sunrise--- or something that evokes that feeling at least. But I think I want blues and oranges, although that doesn't really work with the minimalist theme I have going on with the wall color and furniture..ugh I don't know what to do.

I really like this piece:

or

and this one-- although its really 'too' gay at least since my mother would probably have to confront me about my 'lack of girlfriends' if I hung something like this in the room!

And I love this- its metal, which is totally cool

Wish me luck!

I like the first two better than the fourth. The third is so different from the others. It's a good piece, but I'm not sure it would fit.

My cousins have a massive downstairs bathroom. It already has a picture of a face down nude, with nothing to show clearly if it's a male or female. Maybe yours could find a space on another wall, if you send it to them. lol

I agree #3 really doesn't go with the aesthetic, I just thought it was a nice painting. I'm really leaning towards #2. The artist did a series of 10 or so of them, each different of course, but same theme (knife textured, etc.), so maybe I'll snag one. I am a really big red on black fan. But I love the kind of 'sun' colors of the last one, and its metal.

Thanks for commenting!

I always knew you had great taste but now of course I know for sure.
Feel free to come and redecorate my house anytime. According to David I did not get the gay decorating gene and he has taken it upon himself to redo my house.
As far as the painting being too gay. I don't think so. If your mom does ask why you would buy such a thing there are many reasons you could give her. For me it can show saddness or just fatigue after a long day. I do readily admit my view is swayed somewhat by being gay but there really isn't anything " gay " about this.
Hope you are well and stay in touch

Just tell mom the boy in the tub is representative of your sadness at not having a girlfriend.

Of the other three, I like #2 the best.
