I really wish I were posting more often. I enjoy keeping track of my years to look back in the future. So just a quick update of what life is like right now.
1. Life is busy! I've been working more than usual recently. School stuff has been suffering -- not grade-wise, just haven't been able to get as much done as I would like. Still planning on finishing MS in August, and then starting PhD program in the fall.
2. Since the last time I wrote this I got a promotion at work. I'm now a senior software engineer. woot.
3. My roomie moved out in January, and then I briefly had another one. She was really wierd and moved out this month because her ex-husband was threatening to kill her. woot.
4. My mom is having a bad time with work right now. She's in this startup company and they just aren't selling like they need to be. She is neurotic like me and so she likes to believe everything is her fault and everyone is blaming her, when its the exact opposite.
5. I'm feeling pretty good about myself. This is strange for me, because I typically have a very poor opinion of self-image, but I've bulked up a little more, lost some pounds, etc. over the last year and I guess don't think I'm utterly hideous. Still ugly :p but not hideous. That's an improvement right? :-)

Yeah, you should post more. And cool. Keep getting trim. Want to set up a friendly weight-loss wager? I'm at 195, and want to be at 180. First to lose an additional 15 pounds? :-)
And congrats on your promotion! Are you planning to keep going at the same school for your PhD?
And ha! verification word is "cakefun."
Google "cake cutting math" when you have a moment, and go read a paper like "Better Ways to Cut a Cake". ;-)
Congrats on the promotion, although I picked up something along those lines on twitter. But, I find it hard to keep track on there, I always end up missing tweets and people just think I'm thick and nosy for asking the what and the when and the wherefors! Oh well, social connectivity for you.
But it's great to have an update and I know how good it is to have something to read back years down the line.
