Where were you 6/1/2002? I had just graduated high school two weeks prior, and was working furiously as the (apparently just-promoted) Assistant Manager of a local movie theater.
I don't remember how I met Wil online, but he was gay, and we shared many interests. I think he was a little older than me. In fact, I think he was like 25ish and I was 18. This is especially poignant now.
I don't think anyone else will find this interesting except for me. I know I'm not _that_ old (hey, stop snickering!), but I do enjoy finding little tidbits like this. You should go hide things in random places so when you're 26, you can write boring blog posts about them. Here is my draft:
You went to __my_theatre_name__?!? You had to have seen me. I work 75 hours a week. And sorry about the guys in line- you have to understand that this theater is the "prostatot theater." A "prostatot" is a 12-17 year old kid who dresses like a prostitute but isnt old enough yet. Either way, which starbucks do you work at? and my more important question is WHO WAS CHECKING YOU OUT IN LINE? Because I havent gotten the gay impression from any of those who work here, but I really wanna know. but anyway if you didnt notice the nametag I was probably the one yelling to keep the line against the wall and frantically pulling ropes to "herd the cattle" into the theater. I usually deal with the lines in the lobby. Also I got promoted to Assistant Manager of the theater! Yay me! Either way I can't wait to see insomnia, I haven't gotten a chance yet unfortunatly to see it. I loved The Following and Momento. Plus with Al Pacino and Christopher Nolan directing I think it will be great. Either way email back...sorry it took so long for me to, but I havent gotten much sleep lately. I really wanna meet- talk movies etc!
Ah- memories :-)

2002 was my second internship. I was 19, and had just finished my second year in college. I was in Houston, discovered the joy of having my *own* apartment for the first time, and found out that straight guys watch Will & Grace. ;-)
Depending on which theater you were at, *I* may have been to your theater, lol.
I enjoyed it....i was a sophomore in high school I am sure. As for your rekindled memmory, I loved it!
Congrats on your then promotion!
Lots of love,
Ryan
long time ago
I think I was just starting to come to terms as being gay (would have been in 5th grade going into the summer) I knew I was gay that's for sure but wasn't sure what would happen next
It is true. I AM very cool! Hahahahahaha. But I think you write so much better than me. You are very fancy, I am not.
Do you think you would have caught me at your theater? Hahahahaha.
I will try to be on tomorrow morning. Talk to me.
@gauss
I was at the theatre whose name began with 'C' and ended with 'ordova'...I imagine you have been there. If you complained about something or requested a manager, you probably got me. I was there literally all the time. To my knowledge, I still hold the record for more hours worked in a two week period at 207. Theatres in TN don't have to pay overtime, so we had no limits, and I made the schedule.
@Ryan
Thanks for your belated congratulations! I'm sure my 2002 self would've appreciated them
@ethan
Wow! In 5th grade! I didn't really realize/accept it until I was in 7th or so.
@joey
I am nothing if not fancy, my friend :-) I have msn- can I chat with yahoo ppl using it? I think so... Ill give it a shot if Im awake... but Im just getting home now, so I may not be able to. BTW have I mentioned that I love your profile pic...of a joey...and your name is joey...yea its clever.
See no one else commented; otherwise they would've gotten a personalized response from me! tsk tsk

@mikey
Thanks-- I'll take fancy as a compliment :-) Although I'm not sure what's all that fancy about it... none the less congrats on your 10 yr old hockey state championship. You go, 10 yr old Mikey!
One of the best parts about cleaning my room when I was still in High school, was finding notes like this folded up everywhere. I love looking into the past when I'm cleaning up.
Mostly cause it delays the work.
Also: I'm going to use the term Prostatot whenever I can.
steve,
you really underestimate yourself and the things that you like. i think most people like many of the same things that you do or at least that has been my experience. i am not much for keeping diaries per se but i occasionally will note something that touches me and its always interesting to go back and see what i was doing at that particular time. sometimes funny sometimes sad.
